Pocono Raceway

Pocono Raceway opened in 1969 with a three-quarter-mile oval, but its signature 2.5-mile tri-oval superspeedway debuted in 1971. Founded by Dr. Joseph and Rose Mattioli, the track was designed by two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Roger Ward to create a unique racing challenge. Each of the three turns was modeled after different legendary venues: Turn 1 features 14-degree banking inspired by Trenton Speedway, Turn 2 (the “Tunnel Turn”) has 8-degree banking similar to Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Turn 3 uses 6-degree banking modeled after the Milwaukee Mile. This distinctive configuration earned the track its nickname “The Tricky Triangle.”

Located in Long Pond, Pennsylvania in the scenic Pocono Mountains, the family-owned facility sits within two hours of both New York City and Philadelphia. The track has hosted NASCAR Cup Series racing since 1974 and remains one of the few independently owned tracks on the NASCAR schedule. ARCA first competed at Pocono in 1969 on the short oval, returned in 1983 on the superspeedway, and has been an annual staple since 1987, launching careers of stars including Justin Allgaier, Joey Logano, Kyle Larson, Chase Briscoe, Ty Gibbs, and Jesse Love.

The ARCA Menards Series returns to Pocono Raceway on June 12, 2026, marking its first visit since 2023. The race is part of a NASCAR tripleheader weekend alongside the Xfinity Series and Cup Series.
